Creating a blog or squidoo lens for free advertising. You can use blogger.com to create a blog or use Squidoo to create a lens both these sites offer there services for free so this is where you want to start. You can go to those sites and follow theĀ tutorials they provide to get set up. Getting set up should not take you very long after you have seen the tutorials. Lets say you chose to start with a squidoo lens before doing anything you want to have your main keyword set in hand. If your main keywords are “calorie shifting diet plan” it is important that you use them during the set up process for your lens as the URL and as your title so that they can be recognized by google when people are searching for these terms. You also want to use the relative keywords that you researched such as “calorie shifting” in the content of your lens. The keywords you have chosen are going to be strategically inserted through out your entire lens if you have a long list of keywords you are not going to be able to use them all so select a few and stick with them for this particular lens. I would suggest using the title of your lens again in the introduction and other keywords in your sub headings, again so that google recognizes them as the keywords to this lens. You will want you use your keywords anywhere from 3-5 times per 100 words thats 3%-5%.The other keywords that you chose not to use on this lens should be put into your tags along with the keywords you used. Squidoo allows up to 40 tags so take advantage of that. Create your lens in such a way that captures people’s attention so that when they finish reading it they want what you have. You can do this a couple ways, but before I get into that remember that even though this is going to be your pitch page you do not want it to sound spammy. The best examples I can think of would be those late night infomercials. If you use what you are offering I would suggest adding content about how the product has helped you and in what ways it has helped you and why you recommend it. If you do not use the product you offer provide information about the good qualities the product has and how it can benefit those who are not using it. Doing a comparative analysis against a similar product could be another way of creating your lens write about the pros and cons of both products and summarize why and how much better the product you offer is over the other. Just make sure if you compare products that the other product isn’t very good so that your product looks amazing. If you get stuck or run out of creative ideas go size up your competition and view their lens or blogs to help you come up with fresh ideas for yours. This will also help you distinguish a good lens from a bad lens and I suggest you do this before creating your lens. A quick tip for after you have finished your lens when viewing it from edit mode on the right hand side column will be a “lens setting” tab open it and where you see “Why Max” make sure that box is not checked and the box that reads “opt out of text link ads” is checked. By doing this ads will not be shown on the side of your lens and you will not find random links in your lens content that lead to other sites. Don’t forget to ping your sites every time you make changes to them this should be on a daily basis. Pinging will notify weblog tracking sites that your site has been updated. Pingoat.com is a popular pinging site you could use. Now read about bookmarking sites to increase traffic to your lens or blog.
